A native of Lookout Mountain, Ga., I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a minor in German. I have called Atlanta my home since 1995.

My first foray into the event management world was as a volunteer for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games in 1996 – after this experience I was hooked. I then worked as an intern with the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, planning its annual bus trip across Georgia before joining the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 1997. At the Georgia Chamber, I was primarily responsible for planning the state’s two premier economic development marketing events, the Georgia Quail Hunt and the Red Carpet Tour. During my nearly two-decade tenure at the Georgia Chamber, I held a series of economic development and event-planning positions. In my last role before venturing out on my own, as vice president of event marketing, I led the event marketing team and oversaw strategic planning and the management of all Georgia Chamber events from inception to execution.

In addition to the Georgia Chamber’s two premier economic development marketing events, I was responsible for all government affairs-related events, 250+ attendee board meetings and retreats, other public policy events and five annual signature events: Annual Meeting, Eggs & Issues Breakfast, Congressional Lunch, D.C. Fly-In, Business Champions Classic Golf Tournament and the statewide Power Lunch Series.

In 2016, I founded my meeting and event planning business, Saxon Special Events. I continue to manage the chamber’s Red Carpet Tour and Georgia Quail Hunt events along with a range of nonprofit and corporate events, meetings and private events.

My husband and I reside in the Buckhead area of Atlanta and have two children, a son who is six and daughter who is four. In my “free time” (Ha), I love spending time with my family, cooking and traveling.
